Places To Visit In Chennai
Chennai is considered the gateway to south India. People love watching movies here. There are numerous places to be visited. Mahabalipuram is considered by UNESCO, world heritage site. This site has monuments dating back to the pallava dynasty from the 7th to 9th century. Another place to visit is the madras war Memorial which honors the British and Indian Soldiers who died in World War 1 between 1914 and 1918. The world'ssecond longest beach lies in the heart of the city. Marina Beach is 12 Km long. You can see hawker stalls, fishing boats and fortune tellers.
If you want to do shopping Pondy Bazaar is a good place. There are big shops like Kumaran, Nalli silks, sarvana stores etc, but it would be great fun if you do pavement shopping. It is a best place for competitive bargaining. For retail shopping head to Spencer plaza. Visitors can almost find everything from clothing and jewelry, to antiques and electronics. You can find good Indian Chinese cuisine here. Mainland china at Aruna Hotel offers good Chinese-Indian Cuisine. French loaf on Harrington Road is the perfect spot for a cup of coffee and some croissants. Rathna cafe at Triplicane offers one of the best traditional Indian Breakfasts. Bite into its steamed rice cake, thosai and filter coffee.
