Luxury liner opens route for Asia Pacific tourism for Indians

The luxury liner has had several trips on sea, catering to the fancies of the well-to-do. An extensive swimming pool, a Las-Vegas style casino, a variety of cuisine, bars etc. The crowd on board the journey, though, did not look like attracted in these luxuries. They would in its place assemble at an 'unearthly' hour of 5 in the morning and listen in rapt notice to a bearded Yogi. Later than all they had boarded the Super Star Virgo precisely for this.

Above 1,000 passengers from India get on the journey with Swami Ramdev across the South China sea where the yoga guru established asanas and held sessions providing tips on breathing exercises and eating right and also medication to combat different maladies ranging from high blood pressure, to the common cold. This was the first time that Star journey was charming on such a large group of populace from India.

"We have been focusing on particular segment of tourist like honeymooners, senior citizens and corporate groups for holidays. There is somewhat for everybody here. This journey is component of our special interest groups which we have freshly started focusing on particularly to expand our brand in India and build more occasion," says Sumit Banerji, senior marketing and sales manager of the Star Cruises.

The Malaysia-based company is the largest cruise liner in the Asia Pacific and is seek at targeting more Indians. Families in smaller cities are venturing on foreign travel and the Malaysian liner company is aiming this segment by offering 'Special interest packages' like Ramada's 'Yoga on Sea.' PTI

Better passenger facilities at Chennai Egmore station

With the opening of more main line train services from Chennai Egmore to several destinations, the Southern Railway management has taken steps to develop facilities to the roaming public. In the last two years, the management had spent Rs 445.44 lakh for offered a range of facilities. The works incorporated development to approach road, landscaping of circulating area, further facilities to the first and second class retiring rooms, development to parking area, porticos, suburban concourse and provision of X-ray scanner and surveillance cameras. To keep cleanliness, it has set up mechanized cleaning of station buildings, platforms and tracks. It has initiate plasma display screen, and flip flap train information board.

For the easiness of the people with disability, it has offered ramp, escalators, and battery-operated cars and low level drinking water taps. Apart from developing the surfaces of platforms 1 to 4, platforms 5, 6 and 7 are to be extended. Two new island platforms (7 and 8) are being constructed. After the achievement of the platform works, more services could be abstracted from Chennai Central to Egmore, which in turn would reduce the congestion at Central. From August 1, Chennai Central-Dadar Express is to start from Egmore.

Kids Film Festival at Chennai

Alliance Francaise de Madras is offering a Children's Film Festival from June 2 to June 6 at its auditorium.

"Ratatoille", is about a rat that imaginings of becoming a great french chef. It says the story of Remy (tone of voice by Patton Oswalt), a rat alive in Paris who needs to be a chef, but has to defeat the dissatisfaction of his family and the intolerance of humans. Using a somewhat miserable young man as a means during which to practice his art, Remy meet up yet another difficulty in the form of a famous, notoriously hard-to-please food critic named Anton Ego, called "The Grim Eater".

"My father's glory" is a movie based on "Memories of Childhood", autobiographical stories by filmmaker, dramatist and author Marcel Pagnol. The film is the cheering story of a loving family and a joyful childhood.
