Grappling with a serious power deficiency, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board on Saturday discharge the plan for power cuts - one hour for Chennai and double that in suburbs, from 10 am to 6 pm because of people, who suffered they would have to spend a few hours of uncomfortable nights with no fans and air-conditioners, have been give a release, with the TNEB resorting to power cuts only throughout the day.

Gopalapuram and Poes Garden which house VVIP resident’s chief minister M Karunanidhi and AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa as well endure the power cuts. Whereas the chief minister's household will sweat it out among 3 and 4 pm, power supply to Jayalalithaa's bungalow will be cut between 11 am and 12 noons. The city has been separated into four zones south, north, west and central to make easy the power cut schedules.
